Welcome

Over the last 117 years, The First National Bank of Barry has served clients across the region to meet their personal, business, and agriculture banking needs. With a plan to grow and remain an independent financial institution, FNB Barry decided to convert to a State Bank. With the conversion The First National Bank of Barry will proceed with a new name, Great Rivers Bank.

The new name, Great Rivers Bank, is a reference to the Illinois, Mississippi, and Missouri Rivers. With over 100 years of history working with customers between and around these great rivers the bank wanted to represent this area in the new name.

“This is an exciting time for this institution as we move forward with our plans for growth and to remain viable for our customers and communities,” Bob Garner, President and CEO of The First National Bank of Barry said.

Even though the name and logo will change, FNB has not been purchased. The name change will have minimal impact on current clients as they will continue with their current account numbers and can continue with their current checks and debit cards. As always, our products enable our customers to bank with us from anywhere as they pursue opportunities in life and business.

“Our team members know first-hand the financial needs of rural living, including agricultural and small business we have built strong relationships with our clients through that knowledge,” stated Garner.

FNB customers will receive communications with further details about the name change in coming weeks. As always, our focus on building strong relationships will remain central to who we are and who we strive to be every day. Questions should be directed to Bob Garner, John Harris, Coy Bainter, Leecia Hillebrenner, or Nancy Obert.
